Managing Director, Finance and Administration
John originally joined Heron in 1999 and served as Senior Program Officer and then Vice President for Operations. Since leaving Heron in 2012, John has been an independent consultant helping organizations with interim leadership, operational and financial management, and strategic planning and board facilitation. John has had extensive and varied board service including serving as Chair, Investment Committee Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer of foundations and nonprofits. As a consultant and as a board member, John has designed and led board processes to set spending guidelines and revise Investment Policy Statements and investment practices. John earned a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School and an Masters of City Planning from the University of Pennsylvania.
